Mrcara is an ideal place for free spirits. Thick forest of pine and dense macchia covers 170 hectares of area.
The island is an important habitat of numerous animal species (lamb, goats, pheasant, chicken, rabbits, dormice, lizards and insects).
The highest peak of Mrcara is 123 meters from which there is dramatic view of the Lastovo archipelago. Camping is also possible. The site is about 300 meters away from a cave and restaurant. There is an out-house toilet and water near by. Campers can purchase drinks in the restaurant (a wide assortment of mineral and nature water, soft drinks, wine, coffee, homemade brandies), and food, mostly fish, can be ordered in advance. We recommend taking a supply of food and hygiene products with you because there is no store on the island except in Lastovo. It is useful to bring flour, yeast, oil, salt, sugar, herbs etc. There is no fridge for guest’s food. It’s possible to arrange for having meals in our restaurant.
For scouts and survival school clubs we can provide a certified guide. We have a long standing relationship with the hiking clubs of “Mosor” and “Split”. The island is ideal for paintball because of the remains of many bunkers and shelters. For this type of holiday, post season is the best time to come. We organize transportation to Mrcara, which costs 10 E . Return tickets are included if trips are longer than 6 days.
